Episode 68 – eFields 2020 On-Farm Research Results

The 4th eFields report was released at the beginning of the year sharing research results from the 2020 growing season. Each year OSU Extension continues to add partners and trials. This year the report encompasses 39 counties and 218 on-farm sites. Mary Griffith joins us as we focus in on 3 trails: SmartFirmer seedings rates, soil health sampling, and soil moisture sensors under irrigation.

You can view the eFields report at go.osu.edu/efields or request a hardcopy from Elizabeth at hawkins.301@osu.edu. You can view webinar recordings of several reports at go.osu.edu/2020efields.

Episode 67 – Farm Succession

Farm transition goes beyond estate planning and is critical whatever your goals for the future of the farm may be. David Marrison, OSU Extension Educator in Coshocton County, gets us started with some questions every farm should consider before planning for the future. Jot them down and call a farm meeting ASAP because, as David said, “You don’t know, on the tape measure of life, where you’re at.” We cover succession goals to preparing the next generation and little bit in between but cannot do it all in 20 minutes.
